Race Results

The grand stands was packed with racing hungry spectators! Thank you to all involved for the day it was a huge success with the combination Oval, Drags and Drifting.

The spectators also enjoyed seeing Brian Lay our friend from USA race with the Sprints and he also got a ride in a drift car that he enjoyed... Brian Lay drove car nr 11. Ultimate Sprints driver Robbie Herbst is the owner of nr 11 car. the rest of the team thanks Robbie for giving his car to Brian to race with us!

The first heat was won by Jacques Roos in car nr 46, Brian Lay in nr 11 came second and Liza van Zyl in nr 17 third. Second heat had lots of action with Andries in car nr 8 clipping the cone and it slid into the track, Pieter Brandt in car nr47 swerved and missed the cone and so did Brian.  Liza and Adriaan van Zyl was side by side in the corner Adriaan had to avoid the cone and avoid a collision with Brian so he turned and unfortunately Liza was too close and she climbed over Adriaans wheels !  The race carried on and the 2nd heat race was won by Brian Layin car nr 11, in second place was Jacques Roos in nr 46 and in third Pieter Brandt in nr 47

Hi all,

Can you believe that this year is nearly over.... We ran our last race for 2009 on the 5th of December at the Spedeworth Vereeniging track.  There where also beautifull fireworks and Carols by candle light too. The Vereeniging fans where very exited and glad to see "The Ultimates" and we where welcomed with open arms by the fans. Thank you for your support we appreciate it!

It seems like the cars are also in hoilday mode, some of the race cars just didn't want to play along! Poor Angelique Herbst's car had steering box problems, frans van Eedens car didn't want to know nothing and Adriaan van Zyls car the same... Jacques Roos went well until his car played up and he missed out on the final heat. Unfortunately in the 2nd heat Vim Newman and Freddie Mocke had a slight incident and they where out for the rest of the race.The First heat was won by Freddie Mocke car nr 137 with Johan Roos in 2nd place and Vernon Newman car nr 88 in 3rd. The Second heat was won by Johan Roos car nr yO in 2nd it was Jacques Roos car nr 46and in 3rd place andries Marx car nr 8. The 3rd Heat also won by Johan Roos car nr yO with Liza van Zyl car nr 17 in 2nd and Andries Marx in 3rd place. Overall winners for the race event was as follows;

"The Ultimates" will be starting their race season in 2010 on the 13th of February at "The Rock Raceway" in Brakpan.  And we have a surprise for you Brian Lay our friend and fellow race driver from OHIO United States of America will be participating in that race!!!!! We are very exited to see Brian once again and look forward to our first race in 2010.

"The Ultimates" would once again like to thanks Piet and all staff and marshals from the Polokwane Oval for always making our race events special. You guys always go out of your way to please us and we would really like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your efforts.

It was a hot one! It was very hot in Polokwane on the 28th of November but rather that than rain we say... Ten "Ultimates" competed in the club finals and some bad luck was regretably also on the menu for the day. First of all Rambo nr 12 had some problems with his engine then Tinus von Mollendorf that was racing his first event blew his engine and Adriaan in nr 79's sprint just didn't want to play along. Kallie Newman nr 33 had a slight incident in the final with the wall as he tried to avoid coliding with Stanley in nr 66 that spun out on the turn. However that didnt stop us from having lots and lots of fun.

The first heat was won by Liza van Zyl nr 17 with Vim Newman nr 95 breathing down her neck as they crossed the finish line. Second heat was won by Kallie Newman and the 3rd heat won by Vim Newman.

For the final Club Championships the following drivers won:

1st Place   - Vim Newman (95)

2nd Place  - Vernon Newman (88)

3rd Place  - kallie Newman (33)

Congratulations guys well done for doing so good throughout the year !!!!

Our next event and the final one for this year will be at Spedeworth Vereeniging at the Vaal show grounds, on the 5th of December 2009. The event will start at 18:00 however the gates to the public will be open from 14:00 already. Come and see us in action on the Vereeniging track once again. The track will also be having Fireworks and carols by candle light later that night.

What a beautifull site it was with the parade "The Ultimates" did for the late Sarel Brandt, first we had a minute of silence and then Sarel's Sprint car driven by his brother was fired up with the rest of the pack following in three a breast formation behind him. We ran a total of ten laps like that before starting our first heat. This was a tribute run to Sarel for this was the first race after we had lost him...

Rambo (Vernon) Newman nr 12, gave new meaning to the words "Low flying", taking the win in the first heat. Kallie Newman taking the second heat and also the final. New driver Frans van Eeden drove Freddie Mocke's car and did well for his first race with "The Ultimates" finishing 6th place in the final.
